Leave a legacy to the Friends
Please remember
us in your will
Legacies and bequests are a way of ensuring that the valuable support you have given the Friends during your lifetime will continue. All legacies, no matter how large or small, are used to maintain and increase the amenities provided by the Friends for the benefit of our patients and staff.
As the Friends of Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital is a registered charity, any legacy left to us will be free of inheritance tax.
For new wills
If you are making a new will and would like to leave a sum of money (legacy) to the Friends, we suggest that you use the following wording:
“I bequeath the sum of £………. (repeat the amount in words) free of inheritance tax to the Friends of Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital (charity no.264150), whose registered office is at Guy’s Hospital London SE1 9RT for the general purpose thereof. I declare that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the Friends of Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital shall be full and sufficient discharge of this legacy.”
For existing wills
If you have already made a will and would like to add a gift to the Friends, you can do this by means of a simple codicil:
